January 2011
- "Robin Hood" at the Pavilion Theatre, Glasgow - On Sunday 9th January the Project had a group outing to see the pantomime, "Robin Hood", at The Pavilion. We had a brilliant time and would like to thank Cash for Kids for donating money towards this outing.
February 2011
- "Be Smart, Be Safe" Young People's Conference - The Project hosted a young people's event with the theme of keeping young people in South Ayrshire safe. Workshops were facilitated on the subjects of Internet Safety, Healthy Relationships, Alcohol Awareness and Domestic Abuse. The conference was well attended and all young people took home an informative conference pack.
March 2011
- Emergency First Aid Course - St Andrew's Ambulance facilitated this certificated course for volunteers. 11 People attended and received their certificates.
April 2011
- Young People's First Aid Course - St Andrew's Ambulance again kindly facilitated a course for the Project's young people which included CPR, bandaging and what to do in an emergency situation. All the young people received a certificate of attendance and thoroughly enjoyed this fun and informative session.
- Art Session - The Project's young people were asked to produce art work to display in the newly refurbished Children's Hearings Office. Eight young people attended this session and some wonderful art works were produced using a variety of materials.
May 2011
- Laser Tag - a group of the Project's young people, volunteers and staff took part in a very competitive laser tag session at Caprington, Kilmarmock. We all went home covered in mud having had a great time!
- Family Coffee Morning - The Project's fundraising group organised a coffee morning at Prestwick South Parish Church hall to raise funds for the Project.
June 2011
- Bag Pack - The Project's fundraising group organised a bag pack which Sainsbury's in Prestwick kindly allowed us to hold at their store to raise funds for the Project.
- Fire Station Visit - a group of the Project's young people, volunteers and staff visited Ayr Fire Station. We were shown around the station, a fire engine, watched the aerial rescue vehicle in operation and had a go with the fire hose. This was a really interesting and fun outing.
July 2011
- Volunteer Social Night - staff and volunteers had a get together at the beginning of July. After asking the volunteers to complete a short evaluation activity, we then got down to the important task of the evening... to have fun! We had drinks and snacks at the Malt Cross in Ayr and it was great for everyone to have a good night out together.
- Water Sports on Ayr Beach - We couldn't have asked for a sunnier day for our water sports event. The friendly staff from Adverture Centre for Education (ACE) kindly facilitated this event where we tried kayaking, canoeing and surfing. We all ended up completely wet but it was such a hot day that nobody minded!
August 2011
- Xscape Trip - The Cash for Kids Summer Grant Scheme funded the Project's trip to Xscape at Braehead at the beginning of this month. We took a coach up and all the young people (and volunteers and staff!) had the chance to go sledging and play adventure golf. Without Cash for Kids support we wouldn't have had this opportunity so we would like to say a big thank you to them.
October 2011
- The Project's 15th Birthday! - This year the Project celebrates its 15th Birthday so a group of the Project's young people, volunteers and staff went out for a Pizza Hut lunch to celebrate with a lovely big cake and lots of balloons!
